New Chief Executive at Ductwork Company Senior Hargreaves

“Steady as she goes,” is the message from Tim Hopkinson the new chief executive at Bury based ventilation ductwork specialist Senior Hargreaves. Taking over from former managing director, Kevin White, Tim is keen to build on the knowledge and experience in the business that has given Hargreaves a strong position in the turbulent construction market. Hargreaves is part of Senior Plc.

Tim has extensive experience in construction and building services. Starting as an apprentice with Derbyshire steel company, Chesterfield Cylinders, Tim progressed over 15 years to become production engineering manager. Transferring to an electrical contractor, specialising in systems integration for process industries, he progressed to managing director before joining the board of a South Yorkshire mechanical and electrical contractor three years ago. Along the way Tim completed an MBA at Liverpool University, further broadening his business knowledge.

“These are difficult times for the construction industry but we have an experienced board and executive team, a sound business with an excellent reputation and strong industry connections. There are unprecedented challenges, but I have no doubts that we are well placed to meet them and not only consolidate our position but grow as the economy improves. Hargreaves is long established and well renowned within the ventilation industry. With the support of Senior Plc, we intend to build upon this,” Tim commented.

This includes the Glaxo laboratories at Stevenage, research facilities for Imperial College in London, development laboratories for AstraZeneca in Alderley Edge and the opto-electronics and nano technology building at Southampton University.
